Vegetation Specialists

Ghostpine is currently seeking a Vegetation Specialists who have a degree in Botany, Ecology, Environmental Science or other related disciplines. The successful candidates will delineate plant communities, conduct pre-disturbance vegetation assessments, rare plant and weed surveys and document the findings within technical reports.

Ideally, the candidates should possess the following:

  • Technical report writing skills;
  • Organizational and communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment;
  • Project management skills;
  • Willingness to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time;
  • Strong plant identification and habitat evaluation skills;
  • Knowledge of wetland vegetation and wetland classification systems is required;
  • Valid driving license in good standing; and
  • Valid H2S Alive, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and First Aid - Level C CPR Certificates, ATV Safety Course.

Applicants must be prepared to work in a multi-disciplinary project team environment while undertaking a variety of project-related tasks including: public and regulatory consultation, field work and report writing. Long days and weekend work will be required at times.
