Ghostpine is currently seeking Wildlife Biologist/Technicians(s) who have a degree or diploma in environmental sciences or other related disciplines.
Ideally, the candidates should possess the following:
- Strong technical report writing skills;
- Organizational and communication skills;
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently;
- Project management skills, including the ability to supervise junior staff;
- Willingness to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time;
- Strong wildlife (i.e., bird, amphibian, reptile and mammal) identification skills (visual, auditory, and sign);
- Wetland/drainage classification and delineation skills;
- Vegetation identification and knowledge of soils would be an asset;
- Knowledge of Federal and Provincial wildlife and wetland polices, legislation and guidelines would be an asset.
Applicants must be prepared to work in a multi-disciplinary project team environment while undertaking a variety of project-related tasks including: public and regulatory consultation, project management, field surveys, monitoring during oil and gas development or pipeline construction, report writing and application preparation.
Please note that some work for this position will be located in remote areas for extended periods of time and may require overtime, weekends and variable hours. The position is physically demanding therefore the candidate should be in good physical condition.
Relevant oil and gas and regulatory experience would be an asset. The ideal candidate will have the following certifications: H2S Alive, First Aid, Ground Disturbance 2, Quad Safety, WHMIS, and TDG.
